Fall 2011 Season Playoff Submission Guidelines

Hey there competitors, great job in the regular season, it was a tight race all the way to the end! Now is the time for the PLAYOFFS! You have trained tirelessly for the past two and a half months for this moment! Now, step forward and ascend to the throne of the St. Louis Photographer Showcase Grand Champion! Here is your chance, be the photographer that you have always dreamed about! Will we see the continued success of the red hot Trevis Thomas and Alan Webb, the resurgence of David McWhirter and Jessica Esfahani, a retribution from Rebecca Haas and Joe Prosperi for being edged out of the regular season, or the dark-horse domination of Dave Kopp and Lindsey Lehmuth? The Showcase Playoffs is this Thursday, November 10th, here at Studio Altius, coinciding with our monthly Brew-Ha-Ha. A series of your images will face off with the other competitors in a head-to-head, single elimination, bracketed tournament. Here is the info on what you will need to do:

1. Email a collection of images created between 6/15/11 and 11/9/11 to showcase@studioaltius.com by 11:59pm on November 9, 2011.
2. The number and names of your jpegs will coincide with the number of potential rounds that you might play. If you might play 4 rounds, then you will need to submit four images titled “yourname1.jpg”, “yourname2.jpg”, “yourname3.jpg”, and “yourname4.jpg”. The numbers that you give for each image will dictate the round that it will appear. Feel free to use any strategy that you think will give you the upper hand!
3. If you have questions about rule #1 or rule #2, call us at the studio 314-769-9769.

For your clarification, here is a list of how many images you will need to submit:
4 images:
Webb, Thomas, Haas, Prosperi, McWhirter, Wise, Smith, Cooper, McCaskill, Esfahani, Birkenkamp, Simmons, Kopp, Barr

5 images:
Soerries, Hebenstreit, Brandt, Lehmuth

Fall 2011 Post-season Brackets!

It is ON! The main event for the Fall 2011 season of the St. Louis Photographers Showcase is here. That’s right my friends, we have seen some wickedawesome photobattles happening over here at 2301 South Big Bend over the past eight weeks and now it is time for the cinderella stories, the bracketbusters, the crushing of the competition in the Fall 2011 Season Playoffs! Come on over to Studio Altius for the November Brew-Ha-Ha/Showcase Playoffs on Thursday November 10 at 6:30pm and DECIDE the fate of these seasoned Photographic warriors! Check out the tournament bracket below and get your pools together (STUDIO ALTIUS in no way endorses or recommends any betting…)! This is going to be EPIC!! Good luck competitors, have fun and don’t forget to stretch!

Fall 2011 Week 8 Results

The final week of the regular season has ended with a flourish! We saw some beautiful fashion imagery this week, and the final regular season results are in! Trevis Thomas has come on like a juggernaut the last two weeks, winning the bonus points for the second week in a row and taking the regular season points leader victory. Alan Webb has likewise come from behind at the end of the season, winning his division for the last three weeks. Congratulations to all of the great photographers for such a strong competition this year! Here are the top ten from this week:

In the sixth week of the St. Louis Photographers Showcase, we finally have a bonus points winner from the Amateur/Student division! Julianne Wise edged out Pro/Semi-pro winner Alan Webb by a few hundredths of a point in this week’s Nature competition.
